Cepharanthine is an alkaloid extracted from Stephania cephalum and Dibron of the fangchiaceae plant.It has the functions of anti-tumor, anti-malaria, bacteriostasis and regulating immune function. Modern studies suggest that it also has the functions of stimulating reticuloendothelial system, activating hematopoietic tissue and promoting bone marrow hyperplasia. It has been used in clinical prevention and treatment of leukopenia caused by radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other reasons in tumor patients, and has received certain effects. Therefore, cephalotene is considered to be a low toxicity and effective leukocyte - raising drug. The effect of cephalotensin was significantly better than that of the classical reversal drug verapamil, and the cytotoxicity was much less than that of verapamil at the reversal dose. Studies have shown that cephalotene has a good reversal effect on a variety of drug-resistant cells. In vivo, cephalotenin can enhance the immune activity of macrophages and cells.
